Tip of the Month
“Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.” ~Maria Montessori
-
Let the children help out in daily chores
-
Some examples: cooking, setting the table, sorting silverware or laundry, dusting, helping to wash the car, etc
-
It is okay if they make mistakes or mess while helping, guide them, but let them feel they are contributing
-
Take the time to show them, step by step, how to accomplish such tasks successfully
-
Children will have a sense of accomplishment
- Little things they do every day, will have a huge impact as they become adults
